Area Orientation

Guernsey and Jersey whilst close neighbours and "cousins" are quite different in culture and feel.  The topograhy and natural environment of both are similar, but it is key to be able to guide visitors around the island where they hope to settle. 

Where the individual or family have limited or no knowledge of the islands, we are able to deliver area orientation. This service not only offers the individual or family reassurance from a locally knowledgable guide, but can also help them identify a suitable residential area in which to search for a home. FWS Ltd have the local knowledge of the Islands to assist the individual or family make some very important decisions.

Home Search

We have the expertise and resources in place to ensure that the individual or family receive all the necessary guidance and support required when choosing and securing a new home.

 

We have relationships with all the major estate agents on both Guernsey and Jersey and therefore are able to source suitable properties on behalf of the individual or family.  We are able to give informed advice and guidance about the processes involved.   One of the key areas of this service is to give clear information to the individual or family about the unique housing laws in both Guernsey and Jersey, explaining how the different property markets function and how these affect individuals.

 

 

Settling In Service

Once the individual or family has found a home we can assist them with settling into life on the Islands.  Things that Island residents take for granted such registering with a doctor, obtaining a Social Security number, transferring the drivers license and re-registering the car may be completely alien to new arrivals and can prove very difficult and time consuming.

 

We can help the employee and their family resolve these issues quickly and efficiently; making their move to live and work in the Islands that much easier.

 

 

Temporary Accomodation

Due to the size of the Islands and the relatively dense populations on both, the property markets are fairly limited.  It is often the case that individuals or families will need a temporary residence to stay in until we can find the right permanent residence for them.

Management of Removals

Using our knowledge and understanding of the removals process FWS Ltd will   organise and oversee the entire removal, shipping process and unpacking process.  We work closley with local removal firms on both Islands to ensure that this process is seemless.

School Search

We aim to assist parents in understanding what the key challenges for them and their children might be in terms of moving to Guernsey or Jersey and to help them to decide what is the best option for their child both in the short and long-term. A good level of education is provided on both islands delivered by States and Private school teaching.
